IMPACT FIRST

Our Values Matter

My journey started with leaving a decent job as an engineer, to begin working at a community food co-op making salads and baked tofu. I wanted to get back to exploring some of the basic values around consumption and the way we nourish ourselves. And it didn’t take long to realize the most powerful thing was the simple art of gathering.

To gather people around food that is made with love and attention. The spirit and energy of a community garden party; potluck style is what the world needs. I want to contribute to doing better in this world, to find my empowerment, and to set an example for others.

Recycle. Reclaim.

FSC-Certified WOOD

Our Ohio-made frames are of solid FSC-certified wood. We have a dark rustic barnwood-style treatment. And we have a thinner solid oak frame with a natural clear finish.

RECYCLED PACKAGING

We made it a goal to reduce our use of plastic to a very minimum. We chose brown paper products because of their recyclability, renewability, and compostability.

Working with the Multnomah County Master Gardeners is about connecting to my community. Xerces Society is about connecting to environmental advocacy, and World Central Kitchen is about contributing to relief for the suffering. I am a proud member of AIGA, the Professional Association for Design. In 2024, I received my Professional Design Certification from AIGA which represents a commitment to the design profession and to lifelong learning.
